Catamaran sailing is a different kind of sailing

Catamarans have experienced tremendous popularity boost over last couple of decades because of their stability, comfortable space and security offered. Choosing a catamaran is an excellent alternative to monohulls.

In terms of yachting in Croatia catamarans took over the leadership as the most wanted way of spending summer holidays on chartered boat in recent years. Their popularity rose rapidly after appearance of new, modern shaped and very comfortable types on Croatian charter market, constructed by world’s well known producers such as Lagoon, Faountaine-Pajot, Nautitech etc. Catamarans in Croatia could be chartered either crewed or as bare boats. The crew usually refers to skipper, optionally accompanied with a hostess or a chef.

Your stay at catamaran considers comfortable bedrooms, a large saloon and spacious deck. Booking catamarans is provided at all considerable yacht charter bases on Croatian coast and could be done for you by Yachting in Croatia team.

Stability? Check! Comfort? Check!

Size and stability are main factors in choosing a catamaran. There's more room on a catamaran, both over and under decks, with two hulls and the area between them. That means technically more people and stuff fit on these boats. Besides comfortable space, stability is guaranteed by two hulls on each side - unlike monohulls, catamarans are in most cases leveled straight! With these boats, you don’t need much water below them to sail in, put differently - you are able to sail in shallower water, too!

They are faster

On most catamarans, there is no heavy lead keel under catamaran that balances the boat to keep it upright, that means they are typically faster than comparable monohulls, particularly on the open water (of course these are all generalized comparisons, it all depends on the type of a boat).

In short - they sail a greater distance, but at a much higher speed.

Maneuvering

Catamarans have two motors, removing the need for a bow thruster - that makes maneuvering pretty easy. They do have low drafts which means that you will be able to maneuver them into the seas that a classic monohull can’t reach, so you may anchor closer to the coast.

It’s all about safety, after all

A well-built catamaran is very difficult to sink. Due to their natural buoyancy, they are technically unsinkable. Of course, in a very bad accident that would unfortunately be the case, but parts of the boat would still be floating, unlike most other kinds of boats that would literally sink.
